Ultimate Principle - Introducing DCI Lane Rivers

I'm thrilled to announce that my début crime novel Ultimate Principle will be published next week! In the meantime, here is a teaser.
The job is brutal. It sucks every ounce of life out of you.

Detective Chief Inspector Lane Rivers is first to arrive at the gruesome crime scene. The brutal murder of an Italian restaurant owner shocks the London community, hurling Lane and her team at Scotland Yard into a vortex of deception and bloodshed.
The victim led an unblemished life: perfect wife, successful business, financially secure. Everybody admired him. But is everything as perfect as it seems?

As the investigation deepens, Lane unearths disturbing secrets – secrets that someone is willing to kill for. But with little evidence and no clear motive she struggles to make headway. Her frustration is further complicated by external factors, forcing her to confront her own recent grief and vulnerabilities. Has she got the strength to give the case her very best and lead her team, or will she crack under pressure?

*****

As well as writing crime, I love to read it. I'm a big fan of Yolanda Renée, who has a new book out - The Snowman. I can't wait to read it and delve into Steven Quaid's past.
Do you read crime? Do you write crime? Have you read Yolanda's book yet?

I hope you are all well. Have a lovely week. Happy writing.

  2. Hi Nicola - good enticing snippet - what lies behind for Lane to find out or be told about. No I haven't seen Yolanda's book - but another I definitely want to read ... good for her, well good for you both ...

At times I read crime ... but I'm not the best reader of books now - I read a lot ... but I must change my habits ...

Congratulations to you both - and all the best - cheers Hilary
